Surfing Rabbi Inaugurates World's First "Surfers' Synagogue" On Oahu's North Shore
Rabbi Nachum Shifren, aka, "Surfing Rabbi", will inaugurate the world's first SURFER'S SYNAGOGUE on Oahu's North Shore, Friday, March 28, 7:30 PM.
Rabbi Shifren will lead a traditional sabbath celebration with friends, great food, and a unique message of aloha for Hawaii.
"Surfers are the most spiritual people around. Each one has a quest to find his/her own unique path of spirituality. The majestic and inspirational surfing lifestyle, its discipline and dedication are conducive to a Torah lifestyle. All we have to do is take a careful look at those waves and swells, consider their source, and find the roadmarks therein to lead us to a higher awareness level in our spiritual trek," explains Rabbi Shifren.
Informative and inspirational lectures will be followed by question and answer sessions. To include:

Sat. morn., March 29, 11:30 AM; "The Aloha Spirit Reflected in Torah"
Sat. nite., 7:30 PM., Rabbi Shifren will be on hand for a lively discussion about surfing the North Shore in the late 60's (those pre-leash days!!). Hear true tales about great watermen, Eddie Aikau, and 20-foot sharks....

Also, the rabbi's DVD "Surf and Soul", a unique approach in teen outreach, using the surfing lifestyle, will be shown
