Nachum Shifren started surfing Malibu at the age of 13 and has been
an active surfer ever since. He was a Los Angeles County Lifeguard, during
which time he received a commendation for lifesaving water rescue from the
City of Los Angeles. He has been involved in competitive sports, including
paddleboard racing and triathalons.
Rabbi Shifren has a degree in Combat Fitness from Wingate Institute
for Sports in Israel. He has a B.A. in Linguistics, and received smicha
(Rabbinical ordination) from Yeshivat Ohr Temimim.
He now lives in the heartland of Israel with his wife, Rivkah, and
their 3 children.
