Meet Our Surf Camp Women's Head Surfing Instructor: Carla Rowland

This year we are lucky to have Carla Rowland, one of the world's great longboard champions from Malibu Beach, as our head surfing instructor. Carla will personally coach and advise you on proper technique, safety tips, and surfing etiquette.

Carla has been a fixture within the surfing community for over 10 years now, and has been involved in the women's longboard movement from the beginning. Growing up at fabled Malibu beach, she has become a surfing maestra of style, grace and control. Both in the water and out, Carla is a teacher who works with all types of children.

In addition to training, traveling and competing, she manages to find time to judge for the Interscholastic Surfing Federation. Several of her pupils have gone on to win major women's surfing championships.

Carla's infectious attitude of friendliness and concern for others, along with her incredible longboard style, has made her one of the most unique woman's surfing coaches today.
